  1. Will those bananas be pointing down while listening to Thriller or pointing up during a colored vinyl of Thriller?

  4. The Estate of Michael Jackson has unveiled a brand-new collection of Thriller reissues, giving fans and collectors several unique new formats to celebrate the world’s best-selling album.

The new range includes four vinyl editions and, for the very first time, a Gold Metallic Cassette, each offering a fresh take on the iconic 1982 release.

    The newly announced editions are:

Thriller Gold Metallic Cassette – £15.99
Thriller Red & Black Marble Vinyl – £31.99
Thriller Golden Pearl Vinyl (D2C Exclusive) – £32.99
Thriller Black Liquid Vinyl (D2C Exclusive) – £94.99
The Gold Metallic Cassette marks the first-ever metallic cassette release of Thriller, while both the Red & Black Marble and Golden Pearl vinyl editions are also first-time pressings in those respective colours.

Perhaps the most eye-catching release is the Black Liquid Vinyl, which becomes the first liquid-filled vinyl pressing of Thriller. Liquid-filled records have become increasingly popular among collectors in recent years thanks to their striking appearance, although they are generally considered display pieces rather than records intended for frequent playback.

Each product description celebrates Thriller as the world’s biggest-selling album and the first album certified Triple Diamond by the RIAA. Originally released in 1982, the album transformed popular music, producing seven U.S. Top 10 singles, including “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” and “Thriller,” while helping Michael Jackson earn a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards in a single night.

While no official release date has yet been announced, the current expectation is that these editions will begin shipping towards the end of October, making them ideal collector’s items for the Halloween season.

With exclusive colours, a premium liquid-filled collector’s edition, and the long-awaited debut of Thriller on a metallic cassette, these releases are sure to attract both dedicated Michael Jackson fans and vinyl collectors alike.
